Nördlingen in Ries
Since 1991 there has been a friendship contract between Stollberg and Nördlingen. They have been working together in different affairs for more than 17 years now. The mayors of Stollberg and Nördlingen signed this contract. The partnership does not only exist because of the offical seal of the contract, but it mirrors the real friendship between towns of the eastern and western part of Germany.
Nördlingen enriched Stollberg, for example, in 1993 when Stollberg celebrated 650 years of municipal law. Cultural groups from Stollberg frequently visit Nördlingen and take part in the celebrations of Nördlingen. Nördlingen, a beautiful town in Bavaria welcomes you with a flair of the Middle Ages and with hospitality. The Bavarian twin town enchants in an agrarian embossed landscape (Ries) and lies in the middle of the crater “Rieskrater”. This landscape was formed by a meteorite`s impact.
